Associate Technical Data Analyst

Department: Data Services
Location: San Francisco, CA

Position Summary

The Associate Data Analyst is responsible for executing backend scripts and tools to support CaseCentral's Electronic Discovery and Online Review products.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day operational processes run smoothly
  • Perform Chain of Custody duties (Data Intake, logging and tracking media)
  • Execute SQL scripts in Oracle to perform extraction, translation, and loading (ETL) of client data
  • Generate and review non-standard reports and perform data exports
  • Interface with the Professional Services Group and Data Operations team, ensure client requirements are met on time and with a high degree of accuracy
  • Perform quality control checks against all incoming and outgoing data
  • Troubleshoot and escalate data issues
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent client data issues as needed


Education, Experience and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Relevant Experience
  • Working knowledge of MSQL/ORACLE
  • Experience using Unix/Linux command line interface
  • 1-2 years of similar experience is preferred
  • Experience with Legal Industry tools, such as LAW, IPRO, Concordance, and Summation a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented production environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Must be detail oriented

Associate Project Manager

Project Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a high-energy and team oriented professional to join CaseCentral in our San Francisco Office as a Project Manager in the Professional Services Group. The Project Manager must have demonstrated success in managing large and complex projects. The candidate is responsible for achieving high client satisfaction, is the owner of overall day-to-day project management of various projects and execution and delivery of job requests for a portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities

Work under the direction of the Director of Professional Services to help clients accelerate success and maximize value from CaseCentral, including but not limited to:

  • Gather specifications and requirements related to client requests and ensure quality in implementation
  • Serve as the primary client contact in the various assigned projects
  • Manage customer expectations based on internal loads and customer deadlines
  • Coordination of internal cross departmental resources to manage tasks to meet specified deadlines
  • Identify and track key metrics for client satisfaction
  • Document requirements of all projects and assure client review and approval

  • Detailed design and implementation of the application tier (business logic tier and data access tier and service clusters) enhancements to meet the needs of the next generation feature needs, of the next major release of CaseCentral’s multi-tenant, multi-party and multi-matter SaaS platform for Electronic Discovery, Early Case Assessment, and Online Analysis, Review and Productions
  • Improvement of the usability and interactivity of the client facing features and workflows
  • Improvement of the performance and scalability of all aspects of the application functionality
  • Design and implementation at all layers of the application ranging from the client facing user interface to the presentation layer, business logic layer, data access layer and the various service clusters
  • End to end integration of application features through all layers, including the database and search engine layers in the backend
  • End to end quality with effective automation of unit, component, and system level tests
  • Detailed documentation of designs and code to facilitate maintenance and further development


Education, Experience and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent degree required

Responsibilities

  • Detailed design and implementation of the security infrastructure, data access layer and database subsystem of the next major release of CaseCentral’s multi-tenant, multi-party and multi-matter SaaS platform for Electronic Discovery, Early Case Assessment, and Online Analysis, Review and Productions
  • Improvement of the usability, interactivity, performance and scalability of the client facing features and workflows and security validations through data modeling improvements, security interceptors, data caching techniques, and data tier and data access tier optimizations
  • Design and development of highly scalable and high performance database subsystem with schema design, data modeling, data warehouse modeling, PL/SQL on Oracle database, and T-SQL on SQL Server
  • Design and implementation of schema migrations and data migrations/upgrades that preserve data integrity and minimize system downtime
  • Design and implementation of the data access layer and data persistence and data warehousing layers
  • Database SQL query performance tuning, execution plan analysis and query optimizations
  • End to end integration of application features through all layers, including the database and search engine layers in the backend
  • End to end quality with effective automation of unit, component, and system level tests
  • Detailed documentation of designs and code to facilitate maintenance and further development


Education, Experience and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent degree required

Senior QA Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for the quality of CaseCentral’s SaaS platform for Electronic Discovery, Early Case Assessment, and Online Analysis, Review and Productions. This is a black box, gray box and white box software quality assurance role within a dynamic, fast paced and highly focused team. The Senior QA Engineer will work closely with fellow QA engineers, development engineers, architects, and product managers to understand product requirements, specifications and designs to design and execute tests to ensure product quality. Experience with standard QA tools and methodology is required. Agility to operate within short release cycles is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • GUI testing for browser based multi-tier SaaS application.
  • Black box testing of all aspects of end user and administrator functionality in a multi-tenant hosted service with role based security.
  • Design test strategies, write test plans and execute test cases to cover functional testing, correctness and consistency testing, stress testing, robustness and resilience testing, performance testing, scalability testing, concurrency testing, security testing, scenario testing, installation and configuration testing, etc. to ensure quality from every perspective in the SaaS application.
  • Own all aspects of the quality of one or more application areas and drive continuous improvement in the quality of these features.
  • Identify weak spots, track bug trends and quality metrics, and drive resolution and regression coverage in a timely manner. Provide meaningful and actionable quality metrics to assess the overall quality of individual features and the overall product at any stage in the testing phase of any release cycle.
  • Report defects with comprehensive details regarding the exact steps necessary to reproduce the issue and complete with configuration and data specific details, and help the development team in isolating the issue and identifying root cause so that resolution can be achieved in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Develop comprehensive domain knowledge to deeply understand user expectations and objectives to devise scenario based testing of the end to end functionality.
  • Participate in reviews of requirements, specifications and designs to develop deeper understanding of the product functionality to design comprehensive test coverage to ensure quality is maintained and improved as the product evolves with an ever growing feature set through successive releases.
  • Provide overlap of testing with the development phase to support the agile methodology and short release cycles.


Education, Experience and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent degree required.
  • 6+ years of QA experience with enterprise software applications or large scale SaaS applications.
  • Experience with understanding complex product requirements and developing comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases.
  • Experience with developing and executing test plans and test cases, report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Experience with organizing test cases into priority buckets so that regression cycles can choose the appropriate set for execution depending upon the extent of change, time available and risk assessment.
  • Experience testing browser based multi-tier applications built with Java, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Dynamic HTML, Adobe Flex, Web Services, J2EE, STRUTS, EJB, and JBoss required. Good understanding of these web technologies and multi-tier architecture required.
  • Experience with both Linux and Windows platforms are required.
  • Experience with GUI automation using QTP is required. VBScript experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with white box testing using Junit or similar framework is highly desirable.
  • Experience with load generation, performance and scalability testing using JMeter is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Perl, Python or other scripting languages for component testing highly desirable.
  • Experience with SQL and XML for data generation and data validation highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability as an effective team player. Must have attention to detail and passion for quality and continuous improvement.
