Court Ordered Production Site
Challenge
Courts
may require that a defendant produce documents through a repository
that is accessible to many parties; as might be the case for
bankruptcy proceedings where many different firms represent the
creditors. Cost must be managed carefully since all payments
require court approval. Unlike a joint defense team where multiple
parties cooperate, firms using the common production repository
will likely be competing with each other to win the largest possible
share of the corporate assets.
Implementation
This challenge can be addressed with CaseCentral Law Firm Edition, Multi Matter Version, with the Secure Multi-Party Option. Administration is decentralized so that each firm is responsible for its own users. A connector to the litigation support tool used by the producing party reduces load time and cost while minimizing errors.
Benefits
- Ability to keep the work-product for each party separate and secure, while leveraging the cost of storing the information once
- Fast, cost-effective loading of documents into the court-ordered production site from the review tool used by the defendant
- Provides a level playing field for all parties so that newly produced documents are available to everyone at the same time regardless of geographic location
- Simplifies coordination and management of multiple law firms
and contract attorneys
Ability to easily add new users and entire firms to those granted access to the common repository
