CaseCentral Transforms Legal Discovery Into Repeatable Business Process to Control Spiraling Cost and Risk
New Corporate and Law Firm Editions Offer Multi-Case Capability, Enterprise-Class Scalability, and Ability To Connect To Corporate Eco-SystemSAN FRANCISCO - October 23, 2006 - CaseCentral, the leader in on-demand discovery lifecycle management platforms for corporations and major law firms, today announced new versions of its solutions that transform legal discovery into a repeatable business process to significantly reduce legal costs and lower risk at each stage of the process.
CaseCentral, the leader in on-demand discovery lifecycle management platforms for corporations and major law firms, today announced new versions of its solutions that transform legal discovery into a repeatable business process to significantly reduce legal costs and lower risk at each stage of the process.
CaseCentral’s Corporate Edition and Law Firm Edition are designed to better manage the accelerating volume of shareholder and product liability class-action suits, Sarbanes-Oxley related litigation, and government regulatory investigations. To combat these legal challenges, CaseCentral’s solutions allow legal teams managing the most complex and most difficult legal matters to move beyond traditional one-off solutions and utilize multi-case functionality to create more effective discovery management.
“Working closely with our customers, CaseCentral has engineered a new generation of solutions to meet the escalating legal burden facing corporate America today,” said CaseCentral CEO Chris Kruse. “The multi-case capability in CaseCentral’s Corporate Edition and Law Firm Edition solve that growing legal problem by turning discovery into a repeatable business process that delivers greater efficiencies, better expense control through lower review and administration costs, and reduced risk of inadvertent disclosure.”
CaseCentral’s solutions address the accelerating legal problem faced by the Fortune 1000. According to the Fulbright & Jaworski 2006 Litigation Trends Survey, the number of large companies reporting 50 or more lawsuits doubled from 11 percent in 2005 to 23 percent on 2006. Sixty-two percent of these large companies (those with more than $1 billion in revenue) reported at least one litigation of more than $20 million. Twenty-five percent of all US firms responding to the survey reported using more than 20 outside counsel, with 48 percent using more than 6 outside counsel. Only 20 percent feel their litigation budgets from outside counsel were “frequently or always accurate and reliable.”
Scalable Infrastructure Supports Expanding Volume of Data
CaseCentral’s new offerings are based on a completely new enterprise-class system architecture that delivers superior performance, massive scalability and breakthrough functionality. New multi-case functionality enables legal teams to leverage prior document collections and reviews on related cases, eliminate duplicative reviews and minimize the inadvertent disclosure of privileged documents.
The Corporate Edition and Law Firm Edition also break new ground by connecting to existing enterprise e-mail archive, messaging, and document management systems. The high-performance web services data connectors built into the platform enable corporations and their outside counsel to efficiently load data from existing IT systems, reducing costly, time-consuming and error-prone document conversion processes.
Both the Corporate Edition and Law Firm Edition are supported by enterprise-class infrastructure and are based on systems by CaseCentral’s strategic technology partners, including Oracle, EMC, and Cisco Systems. The infrastructure was designed to scale to multi-terabyte-size cases and accommodate increased data storage requirements imposed by changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure that will take effect on December 1, 2006.
The Corporate Edition is optimized for the requirements of corporate legal departments and provides the functionality, supporting services and pricing options needed to manage complex discovery within a corporate environment. The Law Firm Edition is designed for larger national and international law firms, and provides functionality, supporting services and pricing options tailored specifically for Helping Corporations and law firms better manage growing legal costs.About CaseCentral
